Ritz Bingo Renovation

Ritz Bingo Renovation

We recently under took some renovations to a historical building in Kings Lynn which we designed and built in the 1930’s.

Ritz Bingo is housed in the what was known as the Theatre Royal, which is situated in St James Street next to the Greyfriars Tower. It is no longer used as a theatre and is now the home of Gala bingo. The present building replaced a previous structure that burnt down in May 1936.

The Theatre Royal was originally  opened in 1815, then after a fire in 1936, it was re – designed & re- built by Keeble Allflatt . It then changed use from a theatre to the ABC cinema. It had seating for around 1,000, and showed films and stage shows. It closed in 1962 to be converted into a Bingo hall, but you can still find remnants of the building’s grand past in the current venue.

Earlier this year we were commissioned to undertake renovations to the frontage of the building to return it to its former glory, maintaining the original colours and design.
